The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait painting by Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci. Considered an archetypal masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance, it has been reported as "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world". The painting's novel qualities include the subject's mysterious expression, the monumentality of the composition, the subtle modeling of forms, and the atmospheric illusionism.
The painting is certainly of the Italian noblewoman Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, and is in oil on a white Lombardy poplar panel. Leonardo never handover the painting to the Giocondo family, and later it is presumed he left it in his will to his favored apprentice Salaì. It had been believed to have been painted between 1503 and 1506; but, Leonardo may have continued working on it as late as 1517. It was obtained by King Francis I of France and is now the property of the French Republic itself, on permanent display at the Louvre, Paris since 1797.
The Mona Lisa is one of the most costly paintings in the world. It holds the Guinness World Record for the highest known insurance valuation in history at US$100 million in 1962.

Reproduction of oil painting is very expensive and a time taking process. The completed painting requires at least a week for drying completely. After that, we apply two layers of protective coating to secure the painting from dust and mold. Only completely dried painting can apply a coating or the painting will be damaged. The process of painting may take more than 4 weeks to 6 weeks based on the size and complexity.
For stretching, We will add a 1.6" additional white canvas border on all four sides for stretching purposes. We do not provide stretched canvas due to several issues. We cannot take the risk of damage while shipping. Also, there are size limitations for sending framed canvas. Shipping a large-sized stretched canvas might cost more than a painting itself. So we suggest you find a nearby local shop for the framing process.
